The Peace Basic Life Support Flow Chart

I've made a pocket card for the Basic Life Support flow chart.
Print it out, put it in your wallet and give some to friends. I hope you never need it.

The Peace First Aid Kit

The following is a list of what I carry as a first aid kit on my rides. As I am a doctor, who regularly rides in large groups, I always carry 2 of the following kits in case I have to render assistance to others on the ride. I carry it all in an old toiletries bag of my wife’s, but any simple case will do. For the weight weenies the total weight about 200g per kit.

1 x pair of latex gloves for when there is blood

1 x roll Micropore tape

20 x 9 cm Combine dressing. Good for applying pressure to a large wound. It will soak up a moderate amount of blood

Several primapore dressings of various sizes, to put over superficial cuts and keep them clean,
a variety of bandaids would work just as well.

1 triangular bandage to make slings

1 7.5cm x 2.3M Elastocrepe bandage. compression dressings for snakebites or large cuts; splinting fractures, supporting sprains

1x 25ml ampoule of 10% Povidone-iodine antiseptic for cleaning wounds

1 x 30ml sachet of sterile saline

2x packs of 7.5cm x 7.5cm sterile gauze

1 pack of 12mm x 100mm steri-strips for holding small cuts together.

1 x snap-lock sandwich bag to put wrappers and blood stained bandages in after assistance rendered

I also carry a single thermal blanket to wrap someone in who has had a significant injury to help keep them warm
whilst waiting for further assistance.
